Bronte Kindergarten student enrolment process
Children may be enrolled in Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn five years of age by 31 July of that year. Documentation providing proof of age is required. All children must be in compulsory schooling by their 6th birthday.
Enquiries for kindergarten enrolment may be made during school hours. Applications for enrolment will be accepted from the commencement of Term 1 of the year prior to enrolment.
The Public Health (Amendment) Act 1992 requires parents to provide documented evidence of a child’s immunisation status on enrolment at school. Parents have the right of not having their children immunised. However, in the event of an outbreak of a vaccine preventable disease, non-immunised children will be required to remain at home for the duration of the outbreak.
All applications for both in area enrolments and sibling out of area enrolments will be accepted on a first in basis.
A wait list will be created for all non-local students. The initial order of the wait list will be on date of complete lodgement of forms and accompanying documentation.
Early in Term 3, the out of area committee will review the waiting list to determine placement positions offered. The committee will then look at the wait list in terms of the criteria outlined above.
