Student opportunities and activities
At Bronte Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.
Our programs may include:

Our in school extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Game changer
Our school’s Game Changer program provides students with unique opportunities to explore innovative ideas, develop leadership skills, and engage in creative problem-solving. Through hands-on experiences and collaborative projects, students are encouraged to think critically, build confidence, and make a positive impact within the school community and beyond.
School band
Our school offers a vibrant music program with rock band, junior training band, and senior band opportunities, allowing students to develop their musical skills at all levels.
Dance ensemble
The school dance ensemble provides students with the opportunity to develop their performance skills, teamwork, and confidence through creative movement and choreography.

Award system
Every student has strengths and are acknowledge for application and talent. The awards system at Bronte Public School recognises and celebrates student effort, achievement, and positive behaviour. It encourages students to strive for their personal best, show respect, and contribute to a positive school culture. Awards are given consistently across the school to promote a sense of pride, motivation, and belonging.
House names
Belonging to a school house fosters a sense of pride, connection, and teamwork. It builds community across year levels, encourages friendly competition, and helps students feel included and supported within the wider school environment. At Bronte Public School, our house names were created in collaboration with Mr Hansen from the Gujaga Foundation recognising and respecting the rich cultural heritage of our area.
Wuriwuri (red) means sunlight and heat from a fire.
Gamarama (green) was the area Dharawal people described which covered Bronte, Tamarama (where it gets its name from today) and Bondi.
Bunnerong (blue) means running water or a stream.
Baliya (yellow) is the Dharawal word for the Northeast Wind.
SRC
The Student Representative Council at Bronte Public School plays a key role in fostering student voice, leadership, and wellbeing across the school community. Elected representatives from each class collaborate to share student perspectives, propose meaningful initiatives, and contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.
