Canteen

Bronte Public School’s canteen is operated by Chika’s Kitchen, providing students and staff with a range of fresh, affordable and child-friendly food.

Our menu includes freshly prepared meals, sandwiches, snacks, fruit, drinks and popular canteen favourites. We aim to offer choices that children enjoy while continuing to introduce new and nutritious options throughout the year. Wherever possible, we use environmentally friendly packaging to help reduce waste.

Chika has more than nine years of experience working in school canteens, including several years at Bronte Public School. She values being part of the school community and welcomes feedback from students, parents and staff.

Lunch orders can be placed through Flexischools. Please see below for current opening hours and ordering information.

Hi, I'm Chika

I’m thrilled to provide canteen services for Bronte Public School this year. With nine years of experience in school canteens, including three at Bronte, I bring a passion for cooking and creating smiles. My aim is to offer healthier, heartfelt canteen service for our children and staff. As an owner and operator at the site, I love to hear your feedback and try my best to adjust the services according to your needs. Please keep in touch!

I was born in Japan, and now live in Sydney with my husband, son (Akira) and daughter (Mina). My children graduated from Sydney High, and are now studying at Uni, Akira-Designing at Uni Syd, Mina-Criminology and Psychology at UNSW. They will come and help me sometimes and are looking forward to seeing you all. We have been training karate in Randwick for over 10 years, and all of us hold black belts—though I’d rather cook than fight!

I love Bronte, its beaches. Our logo celebrates Bronte, my hometown, and happy kids.

Canteen opening times - Chika's Kitchen

Lunch 11:00am -12:00pm - Monday to Friday (On site)

Recess 1.40pm - 2.00pm - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (On site)

Lunch orders can be placed through Flexischools by 8:00 am on the day.

Snacks can be purchased over the counter at lunchtime from Monday to Friday, and at recess from Wednesday to Friday.
